Sidelight Finishing Instructions

Check for correctness and quality
before cutting or finishing the sidelight.

Sidelights must be conditioned to average
prevailing humidity before installation.

Store in a dry, well ventilated area.

All sidelites require sanding before finishing.
The degree of sanding will depend on
the type of finish being applied.

Apply finish as soon as sidelight is sized.

Make sure all six sides are sealed and finished, including top, bottom and side edges.

For stain finishes, apply a first coat of
quality oil base stain and sealer
followed by at least two coats of clear finish.

For paint finishes, use a good grade primer followed by at least one topcoat of a good
grade oil or latex paint.
